Papers of Anthony John ARKELL (1898-1980), colonial administrator and archaeologist

two boxes of material, relating to Arkell’s research on beads and the bead trade,

especially in North Africa
the material includes correspondence, notes, draft manuscripts and typescripts,

and miscellaneous ephemera
the papers have been catalogued and arranged into the following sections: (i.) glass beads and general; (ii.) Cambay, carnelian and agate beads; (iii.) Tuareg ornament; (iv.) miscellaneous
