Friday 20 September, 18.30 - 21.00
What stories can objects tell? Join us to hear objects told through newly commissioned writings and compositions.
The Museum of Colour launches on Friday 20 September. Come and be a part of it, with readings and performances by talented writers Grace Nichols, Will Harris, Jay Bernard, Kei Miller, Bernardine Evaristo, Daljit Nagra, Colin Grant, Degna Stone and Tayo Aljul, underscored by musician Randolph Matthews in an event curated by Melanie Abrahams. Each newly commissioned piece is in response to objects at the Pitt Rivers, including German broadswords, Ghanaian gold weights and an Indian ceremonial conch.
Doors will open at 18.30 and performances will start at 19.00. There will be an hour of performances followed by light refreshments and drinks, with carriages at 21.00.
