Inspired by the Hawaiian quilts on display, explore pattern making and symmetry!
There are now 15 Hawaiian quilts in the Pitt Rivers Museum collection. Together they show parts of the nature, culture and history of Hawai'i, as well as the personal stories of the quilters who made them. In the symmetrical designs, you can spot images of flowers, plants, sea creatures and even lamps!
Join us for an afternoon of drawing and collage, to make your own pattern which tells us all about the things that are important to you! Place your pattern in one of our mirror boxes to see your creation reflected in the mirrors and your final design come to life!
