Join us for a very special evening of viewing, discussing and celebrating the Performing Tibetan Identities exhibition in the presence of its creator, Tibetan photographer Nyema Droma. The evening begins with talks by her and other Tibetan speakers exploring some of the themes of the exhibition: the interplay between tradition and modernity, the local and global, and homeland and exile in the construction of Tibetan identities. We then move into the museum's galleries to view Nyema Droma's stunning portraits and listen to one of the stars of the Tibetan music scene, the singer and former Buddhist monk, Ngawang Lodup. Drinks and copies of the exhibition catalogue will be on sale.
