Session Outline
In this creative Take One… session, pupils are inspired to look closely at the feather cloak and use it as a springboard for imaginative and critical thinking.
Activity 1 Questioning Pupils look closely at the royal Hawaiian feather cloak and understand its cultural and historical significance.
Activity 2 Exhibition and Museum Search Half the group explore the quilt exhibition, identifying Hawaiian plants, trees and animals. Half the group look round the Museum collecting patterns from nature. Groups swap over.
Session 3 Designing Pupils design a cloak using patterns from nature.
